Witness Breaching Humpback Whales in Kauai
Get up close and personal with the ocean’s gentle giants. Take an incredible and beautiful journey to the Port Allen area. The kohola 🐋(humpback whales) are here from December to March. Viewing these magnificent creatures is an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Join us for a unique sighting of a mother whale as she nurtures her calves to swim toward the ocean surface. During your sail, Captain Lani and the crew share Kauai’s culture and history. You may also see nai’a 🐬 (dolphins and porpoises) and honu 🐢 (sea turtles) cruising along the catamaran. Have your camera ready for amazing pictures!
Pretzels, soda, and juice are available on board during your sail.

Make sure to bring a water bottle or a Hydro Flax with water!
Wear comfortable clothing and protect yourself from the sun. Wear a long sleeve t-shirt and a hat or visor and comfortable footwear. You will be barefoot on board. Bring an extra bag to place your footwear in the bag. If you need to wear footwear, bring your own aqua shoes; however, do not walk down with the aqua shoes as they will gather the red dirt. Red dirt and seawater make for red paste — not good for Catamaran Kahanu.
